Frequently Asked Questions

What does the name JusticeBlock stand for?

JusticeBlock is a portmanteau of the words: “Justice” and “Blockchain”

What is justice?

Justice refers to the fairness in the way people (and other species) are dealt with, regardless of class, race, sexuality or any other restrictions. Our open platform is meant to support your desire to get an understanding of justice in daily and global contexts such as: social justice, economic justice, climate justice, environmental justice, children’s justice and criminal justice, and the roles they play in the modern justice system

What is blockchain?

A block, or data record, is created every time someone initiates a digital transaction. It could be a crypto-currency, medical information, legal information, shipment history, or even a ballot.

Rather than being stored in a single vault, as paper or digital records now are, information stored in a particular block is spread over thousands or millions of computers through a peer-to-peer network that uses algorithms to verify transactions. Each validated block is added to everyone’s copy simultaneously, creating a chain of blocks or a “blockchain.” (UNDP)
